Scarf’s Got Monday Covered

Food and wine on a timber table at Reed House

Reed House is giving you a good reason to go out on a Monday. On 9 November, Scarf’s spring dinner series opens with a $60 two course menu, with Reed House’s chefs in the kitchen and Scarf trainees running the floor alongside volunteer mentors.

Expect ramen Scotch eggs, followed by a choice of lamb rump, honey roast chicken or coronation curry cauliflower. Those potatoes with malt vinegar mayo and chicken salt? An optional extra worth making room for.

Scarf supports young people seeking protection and those from refugee and migrant backgrounds who face barriers to employment. These dinners give trainees paid experience, practical skills and connections to help them find their feet in hospitality.

“It’s also so nice to see genuinely excited trainees coming into an industry that I love so much,” says Reed House restaurant manager and owner Rebecca Baker.
